DualTake on iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the 2027 iPhones
DualTake records one take and saves a 9:16 portrait video and a 16:9 landscape video, and it needs iOS 18 or later. We have not published a test on the iPhone 18 models yet, so check the App Store listing and our compatibility page for the current list.

What is new in the iPhone 18 lineup
Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026 with an A20 Pro chip. They were released September 18, per Mashable. MacRumors reports the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air are expected in spring 2027.
Why it matters for one-take recording
A new phone does not change the idea: you film once and export a vertical file for TikTok, Reels and Shorts and a horizontal file for YouTube. What matters is whether the app supports your model, so run a short test first.
Test before an important shoot
- Record a one-minute clip and check both the portrait and landscape files.
- Check storage, because two exports use more space.
- Read the compatibility page for current notes.
